Mrs. Steigerwald's CD Blend Class

Welcome to CD-G!!!

My name is Mary-Catherine Steigerwald and this is my 5th year teaching and my 3rd year at Midland Park Primary. I graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, then I went to Liberty University to get my Masters of Arts in Teaching. I live on James Island with my husband- Craig and our dog- Maya.

I’m very excited to be working with your child this year! It’s going to be a fun year full of learning and new adventures! I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us! In this packet, you will find information about CD and my classroom. My teacher assistant is Ms. Griffin, and she will be working often with your child as they grow and learn with us.

I believe that communication is extremely important between the teacher and the parent. I will work with you in any way to either be at school early or meet with you after school if you have questions or concerns or just want to see your child’s progress. Please don’t hesitate to call or e-mail me at any time. You may call me at the school at 843-574-2183 ext 23300, or you can always e-mail me at mary_steigerwald@charleston.k12.sc.us. I usually tell parents that e-mail is the best way to contact me. I can check it frequently and I also check it on weekends and nights. Also, writing notes and placing them in your child’s folder is a great form of communication.

As a teacher, there is nothing more inspiring than the look in a child’s eyes as they learn and grow. CD is the first big step into education and I feel privileged to be able to assist you and your child during this important year. Together we will build a foundation for future educational success for your special little one. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you!
