A look at K-D's Month:
We are working on recognizing the letters in our names and how to write the letters in our names. We will learn to recognize words and how to count syllables in words.
Sight Words: for, up, look, is, go, we, little, down, can
Writing Workshop: We are working on putting our ideas on paper using detailed pictures. We will learn how to label our pictures using at least the beginning letter of the word. We are writing our own books about pumpkins.
We are working on how to represent numbers 1-10 and how to count up to 10 objects. We will learn ordinal numbers that tell the order of something; including first, second, third, fourth and fifth.
We will work on learning more about pumpkins. We will discuss parts of a pumpkin, the lifecycle of a pumpkin and conduct a sink or float experiment with our class pumpkins.
We are working on learning about Hispanic heritage. We will learn about community helpers.
Please continue to work with your child each night by reviewing their blue practice folder and reading with them. Blue practice folders and books should be returned to school every day. Math sheets are checked on Friday.
