Christina Minaya

Hello my name is Christina Minaya and this is my third year teaching at MPP! 

I graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2010 and I received my
Master’s Degree from the University of Arkansas in 2014.
I currently live in Charleston with my wonderful husband and
my adorable dog, Brownie.

I am very excited about this upcoming school year and I cannot wait to
work with you and your little ones
 Our class will have  many wonderful
opportunities and experiences, while making meaningful memories!

What are we learning in K-C

Language Arts:

We are working on recognizing the letters in our names. We will learn
how to write the letters in our names.
Sight Words
: I, a, you
Writing Workshop: We are working on putting our ideas on paper using
pictures. We will learn how to label our pictures using at least the beginning
letter of the word.


Math:

We are working on identifying and drawing 2-D shapes; like circles, triangles,
rectangles, squares and hexagons. We will learn how to represent numbers
1-10. We will learn how to count up to 10 objects.

Science: 

We will work on learning more about apples. We will discuss parts of an
apple, the lifecycle of an apple and how we can use apples to make other
things like applesauce, apple juice and apple pie.  
     

Social Studies:

We are working on learning about school rules. We will learn how to learn
and play with others.


Please continue to work with your child each night by reviewing their
practice folder and reading with them. Red practice folders and books should
be returned to school every day.
