Summer Lunch Program: CCPL provides free meals and snacks at select branches during the summer through partnerships with the Charleston County School District (CCSD) and the Lowcountry Food Bank (LCFB).
In accordance with South Carolina Code of Laws Section 59-32-20 (Erin’s Law), all Charleston County School District (CCSD) schools are required to provide age-appropriate instruction on personal safety to help students recognize, respond to, and report sexual abuse.
Each school implements lessons annually that are aligned with state-approved standards and designed to empower students with the knowledge and skills needed to protect themselves and seek help from trusted adults. Instruction is delivered by trained and certified educators and incorporates developmentally appropriate materials and resources.
Per the requirements of Gavin’s Law, Act 54 of 2023, Charleston County School Districts has implemented a policy to educate and notify students of the provisions of Gavin’s Law. This includes adequate notice to students, parents or guardians, the public, and school personnel of the change in law.
You can find further information pertaining to both Erin and Gavin's Law here.
